Job Description

A Conti Commis assists the Continental Chef in preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes within the Continental section of the kitchen. They ensure consistency, hygiene, and quality in all food items while following kitchen standards and recipes.

Skills Required

Basic knife skills and understanding of kitchen operations.Good time management and multitasking skills.Understanding of food safety and hygiene practicesWillingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Good understanding of Continental cuisine, ingredients, cooking methods, and basic culinary fundamentals.
  • Understanding of food safety & hygiene (HACCP preferred)
  • Willing to work flexible hours, shifts, and under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and rotation of food items (FIFO).
  • Support senior chefs during busy service hours.
  • Prepare basic sauces, soups, salads, grills, roasts, pasta, and other continental dishes.
